Douglas Rees

If you could ask one BURNING question, what would it be?

Join Douglas Rees and Laurie McLean on Wednesday, December 10th at 5:30PM Pacific for a 1-Hour Teleseminar (Live Nationwide)

You're invited to participate as Laurie McLean of the Larsen Pomada Literary Agency interviews our special guest award winning children's book author Douglas Rees.

Doug and Laurie are excited to share their views on the wealth inherent in YA and children's book writing (and the many ways you can define the word "richness".)

If you are looking to gleen insights from a prolific and successful children's author in a dynamic conversation with his literary agent - you won't want to miss this call.

Douglas Rees is an award-winning children's book author. His book Uncle Pirate was released in June 2008 and was chosen as a Summer 2008 Book Sense Children's Book Pick by the American Bookseller's Association! Doug has sold sequels to Uncle Pirate and also to Vampire High. Uncle Pirate to the Rescue is finished, and Vampire Pride will be finished shortly. Vampire High is being brought back into print in hardcover, and will be an audiobook. Hollywood writer/director Christopher Columbus' 1492 Pictures (Night at the Museum, Harry Potter, Rent, etc.) just signed on to develop Vampire High into a studio movie. He's also written Lightning Time, Grandy Thaxter's Helper and the Smoking Mirror. Learn more about Doug on his website.

Laurie McLean is the newest agent at Larsen Pomada Literary Agency, having joined the two agency founders in 2005. Following a 20-year stint as the CEO of a successful Silicon Valley public relations agency, Laurie was able to switch gears in 2002 to immerse herself in writing. She has penned three novels to date, and if that wasn't enough, she decided that the life of a literary agent would be the perfect complement to her duties as an author of genre fiction. As a literary agent Laurie specializes in adult genre fiction (romance, fantasy, science fiction, mystery, westerns, horror, etc.) plus middle-grade and young adult children's books. She does not handle commercial, literary or women's fiction, nor does she handle picture books. For more on Laurie, check out her blog.
