Book your room directly with the hotel by calling 415-788-1234 or visiting this link. Use this link to get the negotiated room rate of $265, good until the rooms sell out.

The schedule is generally published in early January, and appointment booking opens a week after. We will email you a notice as soon as it's available. We try for earlier, but it's better for us to get it done right than to get it done early.

You can only make one appointment of each type in advance. Unlimited additional appointments will open up at 5 pm on Thursday at the conference.

• • Your first pitch appointment with an agent or acquiring editor is included. Additional pitch appointments will be $50 each.
  • Conference Concierge appointments (our VIP service) will be $100.
  • Portrait sessions with our conference photographer will be available for a cost to be determined. They were $50 in 2024, with digital files at $80 each.
  • All other appointment types are included for free.

If you gave us a donation to our Scholarship Fund, you have our utmost thanks for your generosity.

If you are paying by check, you will not be registered until we receive payment.

Refund policy

Cancellation with Refund Requests for Conference Fees or Postponement Requests must be submitted in writing to the San Francisco Writers Conference. A $100 cancellation fee will be charged for refund requests received by July 31, 2025. For refund requests received from August 1 through December 31, 2025, a cancellation fee of  $150 will be charged. There will be no refunds after Jan. 1, 2026, for any reason. Postponement to 2027 will be granted for illness or emergencies without a penalty. Refunds will be credited to your credit card account or sent within six weeks after they are received. The SFWC reserves the right to change or cancel any speaker and/or session without notice. There is a $50 handling fee for returned checks.
