Conference Weather and Other Important Information
It’s almost here! The 16th Annual San Francisco Writers Conference begins on Valentine’s Day next Thursday. And we wanted to give you some last minute tips to get the most out of your conference and our beautiful city:
- WEATHER. It’s going to range between the upper 40s at night to the mid-50s during the day. And there will be intermittent showers all four days of the conference. So bring an umbrella (which is sure to mean it won’t rain!) and some shoes that will stand up to some wet intersections. And if you don’t want to go outside much, there are a ton of great restaurants right next door to the hotel. Hint: If you don’t mind a walk in a Spring shower, you’ll find wonders galore in the Ferry Building across the Embarcadero.
- WIFI. Wifi is free in your hotel room if you’re staying at the Hyatt, but we won’t have it in the meeting rooms. But the good news is that cell service is excellent throughout the Hyatt because we’re smack dab in downtown San Francisco. There’s also at least three coffee shops with free wifi within steps of the hotel.
- FOOD. While three breakfasts, a fancy luncheon, two drinks & hors d’oeuvres networking parties, and cookies/coffee at the Friday Open Mic are included at SFWC, if you are feeling peckish or want something different or more, not only does the Hyatt have an incredible restaurant and bar on the Atrium level, they also have a self-service market with coffee, sodas, juice, yogurt, cookies, sandwiches, salads and the like. Plus, surrounding the hotel are a range of food establishments from Taco Bell to Michelin-starred restaurants and waterfront whiskey tasting joints. We believe San Francisco is one of the foodie heavens on earth, so explore a little while you’re here.
