Kristen Tate is the owner and lead editor at the Blue Garret, which helps authors transform their work from rough draft to finished book, and author of the forthcoming book All the Words: A Year of Reading about Writing. She is the founder of the Bay Area chapter of the Editorial Freelancers Association, as well as a member of the American Copy Editors Society and the Association for Independent Publishing Professionals.
Kristen has a PhD in English from Columbia University, with a focus on novels and publishing history. She has been thinking about how novels work and how readers experience them for many years and brings this rich experience to her editing.
