Time to Polish your Prose and Enter the San Francisco Writing Contest!
Each year hundreds of writers spend a bit of extra effort over the holidays to polish the first 1,500 words of a short story, article, novel, nonfiction book, flash fiction, or other piece of writing and enter it into the prestigious San Francisco Writing Contest.
One year, a runner-up in the Childrens/YA category secured an agent for her entry and that agent got her a $200,000 deal with Penguin Random House’s Crown imprint. Many others have gone on to find publishers or self-publish their books, garnering awards and acclaim. Anything is possible.
And it all starts here with this writing contest.
Anyone in the world can enter this contest, which has three categories: Fiction, Nonfiction, and Children’s/YA. But the deadline is quickly approaching. The entry fee is $35 per item. Check out all the details and the entry form here: https://www.sfwriters.org/2020-writing-contest-overview/
All fees and entries must be received by 5:00 pm Pacific Time on January 10, 2020.
